“Is My Sea Run Case Waterproof?”

This is one of the most frequently asked questions that we get in our emails and DMs. Freshwater and saltwater anglers alike all want to know if our cases are 100% waterproof.

When we were designing the first Sea Run case a little over a year and a half ago, we were aiming to solve the problem of getting your gear to your destination safely. That led us to design each Sea Run case with room for plenty of rods and reels, deep storage compartments with marine-grade padding to protect them, TSA-compliant locks, and an incredibly rugged exterior. We thought it was important that the case not be airtight- we didn’t want the gear that we’re trying to protect to get moldy or smelly after sitting in the case for a few hours (or days) after a trip. We were thrilled when the final prototype came in and we could finally help anglers protect their gear and their peace of mind.

We never intended for anglers to be taking their cases on the boat or in the raft with them, but it makes perfect sense to. It’s our priority to adapt to the needs of our customers and to always keep listening and innovating. So, thanks to all of your feedback, we’re excited to say we are currently working on a design for a 100% waterproof case.

In short: not yet.
